Our physiotherapy sessions address various challenges faced by amputee patients, including phantom limb pain, residual limb pain, and musculoskeletal issues such as low back pain.
At PROmotion Health our diverse amputee caseload ranges from 3 years to 70 years old. Our amputee team have also gone through additional amputee specific training to ensure that we can provide functional improvements and strength and conditioning specific to all presentations.
Tailored to each client’s objectives, our exercise physiology sessions focus on activities from gait re-education to navigating uneven terrain or returning to running. Utilising our fully equipped gym and reformer studio for diverse and personalised exercises specific to the needs of the individual.
For upper limb amputees, we prioritise strengthening the upper body to support prosthetic weight and prevent musculoskeletal discomfort like neck and shoulder pain. Rehabilitation includes thoracic spine exercises essential for functional capacity in daily activities and effective upper limb prosthetic use. Our holistic approach promotes strength, stability, and endurance, ensuring optimal function and enhancing overall quality of life for our clients.
