Sorcha, an Irish Physiotherapist with a passion for Musculoskeletal and Sports Physiotherapy, believes in tailoring treatment to each individual’s goals to achieve optimal outcomes.
Graduating from Trinity College Dublin in 2017, Sorcha honed her skills in orthopaedics and sports rehabilitation at the prestigious Sports Surgery Clinic in Ireland. During her four-year tenure, she collaborated with leading researchers in Sports Medicine, specialising in ACL reconstruction, athletic hip and groin injuries, and post-shoulder stabilisation rehabilitation.
Seeking further expertise, Sorcha pursued a Master of Clinical Physiotherapy, Musculoskeletal degree at Curtin University in Perth. Her dedication earned her the Brian Edwards Award from the Australian Physiotherapy Association in 2022, showcasing her commitment to enhancing clinical reasoning and pain management for persistent musculoskeletal disorders.
Certified as a strength and conditioning coach and Pilates instructor, Sorcha integrates these modalities into her rehabilitation approach, emphasising their importance in recovery.
With a background in national and international athletics, Sorcha understands the nuances of sports-related injuries firsthand. Her experience extends to working with the Irish women’s national basketball team in 2021, facilitating their return to peak performance post-injury.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Sorcha thrives on motion, enjoying running, swimming, cycling, and gym workouts. Notably, she conquered the Melbourne Marathon in 2023 and now embarks on the Busselton Half Ironman as her latest challenge.
